Chuck McCann starts new Tent in Culver City

Actor Chuck McCann spontaneously started a new Tent of the Sons of the Desert by the name of Hal Roach Tent. The tent is seated in Culver City.

Chuck mentioned this last year when I spoke to him on Shokus Internet Radio. Below is from the Nutty nut News Network, April, 2009.

It was fantastic having the opportunity to speak with Chuck (both on air and during the commercial break and briefly after the show). Chuck told me that there are plans afoot to open a new Culver City Tent. I managed to plug the forthcoming UK Convention and Chuck asked about the Statue saying how he'd like to come over and see it. It might have been 2am (GMT) when the show went off air but I am more awake now than I was this morning!

I'm glad the Tent has finally formed, does anyone know any more details?

Another newsflash from America: filmactor Chuck McCann spontaneously started a new tent of the Sons of the Desert. The name is Hal Roach tent en is situated in Culver City, were once the Hal Roach Studios stood. McCann, having passed his retirement age for quite some time now, was a well known Oliver Hardy impersonator. Here on YouTube with Dick van Dyke as Stan in an episode of the Gary Moore show from 1958.
